Enhanced Photovoltaic Systems Performance: Anti-Windup PI Controller in ANN-Based ARV MPPT Method

Photovoltaic (PV) panels exhibit a non-linear current-voltage characteristic with Maximum Power Point (MPP) that varies due to environmental factors such as solar radiation and ambient temperature. In this study, an Artificial Neural Network (ANN)-based MPPT method, called the ANN-based Adaptive Reference Voltage (ARV) is proposed determine optimal operating point of PV panel. The ARV method voltage-controlled approach can adapt changing atmospheric conditions. performance evaluated using both normal Proportional-Integral (PI) controller anti-windup PI controller. Comparative analysis conducted widely used Perturb Observe (P&O) Incremental Conductance (INC) methods in MATLAB/Simulink environment, considering three different scenarios varying levels according EN50530 standards. demonstrates superior efficiency overall results 99.4%, 95.9%, 96% scenario 1, 2, 3, respectively.
